Vistara, a Tata-SIA alliance domestic airline on its domestic network has re-introduced in-flight meals across cabins. The domestic airline on its flights within India has also resumed serving hot vegetarian meals in the Economy Class. To control the spread of COVID-19 as per the DGCA guidelines, air carriers were not allowed to serve on-board fresh hot meals and Vistara replaced hot meals with pre-packaged snacks.
With 100-crore Indians receiving vaccine doses (either single or both), and COVID-19 in control, airlines have slowly started to bring back hot meals as part of in-flight experiences following the guidelines set by regulatory authority DGCA. Customer feedback suggests that travellers are becoming "more confident" about consuming meals on board.
The in-flight menu in Vistara has been kept new and refreshed. Due to good quality in-flight meal, as per the company, a lot of travellers preferred Vistara over other domestic airlines. Eevery three days Vistara says they will be refreshing meals which includes options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
