Only Asian team to won t20 and ODI series in New Zealand

 New Zealand Cricket have named a 15-man group for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, alongside squads for upcoming limited overs tours of India, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Looking to win the Men’s T20 World Cup for the first time, Kane Williamson’s squad is headlined by an all-star bowling group, featuring Ish Sodhi, Mitchell Santner and Tim Southee – all in the top 10 of the ICC T20I bowling rankings – alongside the likes of Trent Boult, Lockie Ferguson, Kyle Jamieson and Todd Astle.

With the bat, the Black Caps will have plenty of class, with Williamson joined by Martin Guptill and Devon Conway, both of whom are in the top 10 of the ICC T20I batting rankings. Add in wicketkeeper Tim Seifert and Glenn Phillips, alongside all-rounders Daryl Mitchell, Jimmy Neesham and Mark Chapman and New Zealand should have both a powerful and adaptable batting order.

Seamer Adam Milne has been selected as the 16th man and will join the team for the tournament but can only be called upon to replace a player in the squad in the event of an injury.

New Zealand will retain the same squad for a T20 tour of India later this year.

A stunning eight-wicket win at Port Elizabeth on Saturday gave Sri Lanka their first Test series win in South Africa, and made Dimuth Karunaratne‘s team the first from Asia to beat South Africa in a series at home.

Hit by injuries before and during the tour, the sacking of their regular captain Dinesh Chandimal, administrative problems and against the backdrop of an ICC investigation into illegal activity in Sri Lanka, Karunaratne’s touring team won an epic in Durban last week and today scored 137 runs in the morning session on day three to make history. 1967-68: India beat New Zealand 3-1

India s first-ever overseas series win had come in 1967/68 season when Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi better known as Tiger Pataudi, led Indian team beat New Zealand in New Zealand 3-1. In February 1968, Pataudi s men beat New Zealand by five wickets in Dunedin to mark the first time a touring Indian team won the first Test of a series away. That victory put Pataudi s team on the way to a landmark 3-1 series win in New Zealand which was the first away from home for India.
