Every year, more than 10 lakh candidates appear in the UPSC exam with the hope of becoming a topper. But out of these more than 10 lakh candidates, only 1 person can make his dream of becoming a topper come true. Shubham Kumar made his dream come true to become a topper in UPSC CSE 2020 exam with All India Rank 1 with 52.04% marks. Shubham Kumar is a resident of Katihar district of Bihar. In a recent interview, Shubham spoke about his journey to crack the UPSC exam.
Shubham revealed in the interview that he was aware of the council of UMSC from a very young age. Shubham spent his early school days in his village for only 4 years and after that he decided to move to Patna to complete his further studies.
Shubham completed his BTech in Civil Engineering from IIT Bombay in the year 2014. Shubham told that he was an active student who liked to participate in all kinds of sports. Shubham also contributed to social services during his college days.
Shubham further told in his interview how his path to success was full of failures. Shubham was a meritorious student due to which he cleared the board examination with 10 CGPA in 10th and 96% in 12th. While giving UPSC exam, Shubham secured UPSC AIR 1 after 3 attempts. Shubham further told in the interview that his friends and family members supported him a lot in this journey.
